July 7, 2021

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to July 2021 Launchgrad.  This blog post contains key information about the relaunch of HCA’s ‘Graduates in Residence’ scheme, and signposts to useful news and opportunities.

To find out more about other Launchgrad activities, please check out our webpages. These include current information about Graduate Associate Membership and the current Launchgrad offer

As lockdown lifts, we will return to our 2019/20 practice of posting information on our blog monthly during the academic year.

Graduates in Residence

We are pleased to be unfreezing our pilot ‘Graduates in Residence’ scheme. Graduates from our B.A (Hons) courses who graduated in 2019, 2020 or who are due to graduate in 2021 can apply to benefit from continuing ‘student’ access to HCA facilities for free.

You can read more about the scheme and find out how to apply on our GiR web pages. We regret that as a small team we cannot respond to individual email queries about the scheme.

Careers Advice

We are very pleased to be able to offer graduates who have graduated within the last 18 months the opportunity to apply for free careers advice with HCA’s careers advisor, Gail Kilminster. There will be around 16 tutorial opportunities with Gail each month. To book one please email G.Kilminster@hca.ac.uk. Slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is a pilot offer and will be reviewed regularly.

Graduate Associate Membership

We currently offer library access to GAM’s. To find out more and how to book a slot, please look on our website. We anticipate further limited access to buildings in September, but please keep an eye on our website and our newsletter for details.

If you are interested in signing up to become a Graduate Associate Member, email reception@hca.ac.uk

Graduate Outcomes Survey

Graduate Outcomes is the biggest UK annual social survey and captures the perspectives and status of recent graduates. All graduates who completed a course will be asked to take part in the survey 15 months after they finish their studies.
